REX (Registered Exporter or Re-shipper)

What does REX stand for?

The Registered Exporter or Re-shipper REX procedure is a procedure for issuing non-formal preferential certificates, which is intended for the movement of goods under the Generalised System of Preferences of the European Union and with the overseas countries and territories. In addition, the REX procedure is also intended to be applied under the Comprehensive Economy Trade Agreement (CETA).

In order to obtain the status of a Registered Exporter or Re-shipper, it is only necessary to register in the REX system. The REX procedure enables persons to independently issue proofs of origin in the form of a declaration of origin on invoices without the direct involvement of the competent authorities.
