An export notice, also known as proof of export, serves as an evidence of export after the formal declaration by means of an export accompanying document. The export notice is generated electronically by the customs office of export, and it is made available to the exporter automatically via ATLAS when the goods have left the customs territory of the European Union (EU).
The notice contains the MRN of the transaction and also serves as proof for tax purposes. It must be archived by the holder for ten years after being issued.
