The declaration of origin is the process of stating the origin of goods on an invoice to indicate where the goods are manufactured. The EU has preferential agreements with different countries and economic blocks. With the preferences, customs duties and taxes are exempted on the goods coming from the country where such agreement had been established.
To determine if goods meet the preferential agreement, the origin must be declared on the commercial invoice.
